Firas Gerges

Firas Gerges is a researcher at Princeton University, where he works on leveraging Machine Learning for engineering and natural science problems, such as Climate Prediction, Air Quality, Urban Heat islands, Renewable Energy Generation, and Urban Morphology. Firas recently earned his Computer Science PhD degree from the New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT), where he was working as a research assistant for Dr. Michel Boufadel at the Center for Natural Resources (NJIT). Firas is working with a team lead by Dr. Boufadel on disaster resilience and its quantification, focusing on communities and infrastructures within New Jersey. The team includes researchers from NJIT, Princeton, and Rutgers. Firas's technical background includes high-level computing, machine learning, data science and database management.
